Tucked into a 3-hectare wooded estate — mulberry trees, willows, maples, poplars — Camping L’Oasis du Verdon offers grassy pitches from 80 to 130 m², all flat and bordered by hedges. The natural shade and green setting guarantee welcome coolness in the height of a Var summer.
The village of Aups is a 5-minute walk away: weekly market, shops, restaurants, a museum of taste. The Gorges du Verdon are 15-20 minutes by car, and Lac de Sainte-Croix half an hour away. In low season (May-June, September), rates are even more attractive and the campsite quieter — ideal for a cheap camping holiday in Provence outside the busy periods.
For an all-inclusive stay, Camping L’Oasis du Verdon offers a small grocery shop at reception (open 10am-1pm and 3pm-8pm) for everyday top-ups. The Les Terrasses restaurant serves generous dishes at reasonable prices every evening (except Wednesday): artisan pizzas, seafood, local specialities. Takeaway pizzas are available on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
The air-conditioned reception is open from 8am to 8pm and doubles as a local tourist office, with maps of the regional nature park, hiking ideas and water activities. A professional washing machine, fridge rental, bed linen and cleaning are available on request. The sanitary facilities (13 showers, 11 toilets) are cleaned daily, and an accessible room is available for people with reduced mobility.
Families especially enjoy the Molly Club (YMCA), which entertains children aged 5 to 12 every evening: outdoor games, pool aquagym, a fancy-dress night-time treasure hunt and dance routines. The campsite also organises weekly pétanque tournaments (Tuesdays in July-August), a convivial moment ideal for getting to know fellow campers.
Around Aups, free or very affordable activities abound: swimming in the coves of Lac de Sainte-Croix, marked hikes through the Gorges, Provençal markets, cycling to hilltop villages. The value for money at Camping L’Oasis du Verdon is especially good in May, June and September, when the entertainment programme continues and prices are 30 to 40% lower than the July-August peak.
